One of the more important areas of house cleaning is always going to be your windows. More often than not, they are also the most neglected. This article will let you know how to clean windows quickly and easily.

Before cleaning the glass you will want to take note of your window coverings. Have your drapes been washed in the past year? If not, this is a good time for it.

How dusty or dirty are your blinds. Keep them dusted once a month and you'll be fine. Finally, be sure to clean the windowsills.

This article isn't about promoting any specific window cleaning product, but you can try all of the major brands to find the one that works best for you.

Another option that works great is to make your own. I do this all the time, and it's so simple. Mix together a bucket of warm water along with a 1/2 cup of ammonia. Next you can take an empty spray bottle and fill it up to use as you would with any other glass cleaner.

How To Clean Windows

For a complete cleaning on the inside, you can use your ammonia cleaner on both the glass and windowsill. Wash them with a sponge and your bucket. Follow up with glass cleaner and paper towels.

The outside glass can be done in the same exact manner. In extreme cases you may need to use your water hose and wash them a couple of times to get rid of the dirt. This is especially the case in rural areas with dust from gravel roads, or areas next to a lot of construction.

To eliminate any streaking you may want to finish with a soft cotton towel to polish the glass.
