Bathroom Cleaning Products To Avoid
When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, there is no shortage of products all claiming to be the best at getting the
job done fast. Just one walk down the store isle and you'll find dozens and dozens of bathroom cleaning products to
choose from. So how do you know what to use and which ones to avoid? Hopefully, this article will shed some light
on things.
Ingredients To Avoid
- Bleach - Yes, it is great for clothes, but using it for cleaning a bathroom is not advised. Bleach fumes
will irritate your lungs quickly.
- Phosphates - Bathroom cleaners that contain phosphates or petroleum are not environmentally friendly as
well.
How can you tell if a product is friendly to use? The easiest way I found is by looking at the label. Does the
label have all sorts of warnings or cautions on the hazardous ingredients inside? If so, you know to leave it on
the shelf and look for something else.
Bathroom Cleaning Products That Are Friendly...And Work
Over the years I've tried about every different cleaning product ever made. With that said, these next three
products are the ones that not only are safe to use, but work very well in clearing any bathroom.
Baking Soda
Not only is baking soda used in cooking and eliminating odors, but it makes for an excellent cleaner too. It's a
safe and effective way to clean bathroom countertops, tile, tubs and toilets.
The drawback is that it takes a lot of energy and work to get things sparkling clean.
Bon Ami Cleanser
For cleaning bathroom fixtures, Bon Ami works quite well. Sprinkle some onto a wet surface and clean with a damp
sponge.
Bon Ami is very inexpensive and environmental friendly.
20 Mule Team Borax
Borax has been around forever it seems, and for good reason, it works! Sure, it is a great way to clean clothes,
but wait until you see how well it cleans your shower. It takes only minimal effort to have it clean in
minutes.
Sprinkle Borax on a damp sponge and apply to showers, tubs, sinks and toilets. It's also safe for those with
septic systems. I give it an "A" for ease of use and effectiveness.
Having the right bathroom cleaning products can make a world of difference in whether you are spending hours
cleaning the bathroom, or getting the job done in half the time. These tips should help dramatically reduce your
time cleaning.
